AI Motion Graphics With Remotion: From Brief to Render
Use an AI assistant to help author a controlled motion project, then review exact frames, typography and export settings.

Choose code animation when the content must stay exact
A product screen, chart or caption often needs predictable text and geometry. A code animation project can move the original assets while keeping labels editable. An AI assistant can help draft the project, but the production result still depends on clear inputs, stable assets and a rendered-file review.
Remotion uses a React-based approach to programmatic video. It is useful for repeatable layouts, parameterized scenes and timed graphic sequences. It does not automatically turn an unreviewed product description into an accurate advertisement, and a browser preview is not the same as a finished MP4.
Prepare a concrete production brief
- List the approved assets: screenshots, logo, typeface, voice, music and any reference footage. Remove private customer data and record usage rights.
- Write one supported product benefit and the intended viewer action. Include the actual CTA destination rather than letting an assistant invent it.
- Set dimensions, frame rate and duration. At 30 FPS, a 15-second composition contains 450 frames. Define readable holds, not just transitions.
- Ask for missing assets and unsupported claims to be reported before rendering. A screenshot of a button does not prove what happens after it is clicked.
- Keep narration, music and captions editable. Review the words and the on-screen timing against the actual voice track.
A 15-second storyboard in frames
| Frames at 30 FPS | Scene | Production constraint |
|---|---|---|
| 0–44 | Introduce one problem or outcome. | Use a short editable title; leave time to read. |
| 45–239 | Demonstrate one feature using real screenshots or a recording. | Keep UI labels unchanged. Animate position, scale or a highlight layer. |
| 240–359 | Show the supported result or a useful detail. | Do not invent metrics, testimonials or a false interaction. |
| 360–449 | Hold the approved call to action. | Keep the destination, spelling and mobile safe area clear. |
Give the assistant boundaries it can follow
A useful instruction is: “Use the supplied screenshots as image layers. Keep their text and controls unchanged. Build the four scenes in the timing table. Use one restrained transition style and leave the final CTA visible for three seconds. Report any missing input before adding substitutes.”
Ask for the scene structure and a preview first. Review typography, hierarchy and the meaning of each cursor action. Then inspect representative beginning, transition and end frames. If the script changes, update the duration and captions together rather than squeezing the new line into the old timing.
Render and inspect the actual file
The official rendering documentation describes rendering from Remotion Studio and the CLI, with separate options for server-side and cloud use. Start from the documented project setup. Select the intended composition, output path and codec, then render a short sample before a long batch.
Inspect the downloaded or locally rendered file for missing fonts, assets, audio levels, clipped captions, incorrect timing and the final frame. A successful build or preview does not prove that every asset was available during export. Keep a record of the project version, inputs and export settings so a later correction can be reproduced.
Understand the license and the costs
Remotion is source-available under its own license. Its current pricing page offers a Free License for individuals and companies of up to three people, with terms, and requires a Company License for applicable collaborations and organizations of four or more. The license FAQ explains how headcount and use cases affect eligibility. Check the terms for the actual organization and project.
A local render can avoid a hosted rendering bill, but it still uses your computer. Cloud infrastructure, paid media, a voice service or a licensed font may have separate costs. Using an AI coding assistant does not change the renderer’s license or clear third-party assets. These details were checked on October 15, 2026; use the linked terms for current eligibility.
Connect the brief to the rest of production
Begin with the screenshot-to-promo prompt to produce a timed shot list. Use the Video Prompt Composer for any separately generated lifestyle shot. After the final render is approved, make a delivery copy with the local compressor when its short-clip limits fit the job.
Frequently asked questions
Does Remotion generate video from a text prompt by itself?
It is a code-based video framework. An AI assistant can help write a project, but assets, code, rendering and quality review remain separate steps.
Can I use it for commercial work for free?
Eligibility depends on Remotion’s current license and the organization or collaboration involved. The linked pricing and FAQ pages describe the Free and Company licenses.
Do I need GitHub Actions to render?
No. The official documentation includes local Studio and CLI rendering. Cloud and automation options are separate choices.
