1. Select screenshots that prove one benefit

Choose one audience, one problem and one useful product action. Capture a current interface with realistic sample data, hide private information and confirm permission for every asset. Use the same viewport and zoom for related captures. Keep original screenshots so a later edit does not depend on a flattened video frame.

For an original example, imagine a small task app that turns an uncategorized inbox into a prioritized daily list. Use three captures: the cluttered starting state, the actual sorting action and the resulting list. Do not imply that a feature exists by generating a fictional interface that the product cannot reproduce.

2. Write the story before the effects

Time in a 15-second planPurposePicture / words
0–3 secondsState the problemA focused crop of the inbox; short line: Too many tasks, no clear start.
3–8 secondsShow the actionPreserve the real screenshot while a highlight guides attention to the sorting action.
8–12 secondsShow the useful resultThe real daily list, with one readable benefit statement.
12–15 secondsGive one next stepStable product name and a truthful, concise call to action.

This is an editable editorial plan, not a validated render. Read the script aloud and shorten it until the viewer can see the interface while hearing the explanation. A claim about time saved or performance needs evidence from the actual product; attractive motion is not that evidence.

3. Make a storyboard with an asset list

Assign a source file to each beat and note the crop, text, movement, audio and exit. Decide the destination ratio before building the scene. A landscape interface inside a portrait frame may need a close crop plus a separate result shot, rather than a tiny full-screen capture.

Keep captions and calls to action inside a comfortable visual margin and test the actual destination view. Overlay locations vary by platform. Never rely on one fixed safe-area number as a universal guarantee for every app or placement. The product promo template helps turn the storyboard into a motion brief.

4. Choose generation or controlled motion

MethodUse it forMain review risk
Image-to-video generationAtmosphere or a non-critical illustrative scene.Text, numbers, logos and UI geometry may change.
Remotion / frame-based compositionExact screenshot layers, captions, highlights and repeatable timing.Code, composition and rendered frames still need review.
Mixed productionA generated opening followed by exact product evidence.Transitions must not imply that an illustration is a real feature demonstration.

For the task-app example, prefer exact screenshot layers for the action and result. Ask an assistant to help author scene components, but review what the code actually renders. Remotion supports local rendering; GitHub Actions is not required. Review its current license conditions for your organization and collaborators.

5. Write a constrained motion prompt

In the AI Video Prompt Composer, choose the product or app demonstration preset. State the single benefit and the visible action. Keep exact interface content as a preserved layer, define a restrained highlight or camera movement and finish on a stable result. Remove any prompt that asks the generator to invent features or rewrite the screenshot.

For a deterministic motion project, translate that brief into a shot list, dimensions, frame rate, scene durations and layer rules. An AI-written plan is an input to implementation. Preview and render a short sample before extending the full composition.

6. Add narration and sound deliberately

Use a voice you can lawfully use and confirm the wording, pronunciation and pacing. Leave enough room for the key screen action. Check the narration by listening rather than assuming a text preview establishes good audio. Label demonstration or placeholder sound clearly while editing.

Select music and effects with suitable rights. Lower the music under speech and listen for clipping, abrupt transitions and distracting repetitions. Save the voice and music sources separately so revisions do not require extracting them from a compressed master. Captions should convey essential speech without covering the interface evidence.

7. Export a master and a delivery copy

Render a good master, then make the destination copy. Check dimensions, ratio, supported codec, duration and bytes against the actual upload route. Use the Browser Video Compressor for short local MP4/WebM preparation when its browser-dependent encoders and approximate timing fit the job. It can fit a portrait frame with bars; it does not automatically redesign a landscape interface.

Watch the downloaded copy on a phone-sized screen. Read every caption and label. Inspect the first frame, transitions and final call to action; check audio sync and playback. Keep both the master and the delivery file clearly named.

8. Approve the evidence, not just the polish

  1. Can the viewer identify the problem, action and result without guessing?
  2. Does each product claim match the current interface and available feature?
  3. Are screenshot text, logos, numbers and account details correct and authorized?
  4. Are narration, music and captions clear, synchronized and suitable for use?
  5. Does the downloaded file play correctly at the intended size and format?
  6. Are illustrative generated scenes distinguishable from actual product behavior?

Use the launch workflow for a repeatable handoff and the quality-review workflow for an independent final pass. Resolve material errors before publishing rather than treating them as cosmetic.

Frequently asked questions

Should every product screenshot be animated by a generator?

No. Preserve exact interface evidence as layers when text, numbers or feature behavior matter.

Can the compressor make a landscape demo into a good portrait story?

It can fit the whole image with bars. A readable portrait story often needs a deliberate crop, larger labels or a separate composition.

Does this guide include a finished rendered promo?

No. It is a production method and worked plan. Rendering and reviewing a real project remain required.
