AI Video Quality Review Workflow
Review the story, picture, sound and delivered file in separate passes so a polished frame cannot hide a broken shot.

Inputs and review decision
Collect the original reference, brief, submitted prompt, model/settings record, best master and downloaded delivery copy. Review against the intended action rather than an imagined ideal. If the brief asks for a character turn but the output contains only a zoom, record that missing action even if the image is attractive.
Choose pass, revise or reject for the intended use. A pass is a scoped human decision about this file, not a guarantee that it is universally accurate or suitable. Keep an unresolved issue list and do not let a small export size hide a material visual or factual error.
Pass 1: story and normal-speed playback
Watch from beginning to end without scrubbing. Does the intended action happen once, in a sensible order? Does the emotional change follow its trigger? Is the framing useful? Mark the time of any distracting jump, repeated gesture, missing action or unexpected scene cut.
Watch once without sound, then with sound. A visual beat should still be understandable where the project expects it to stand alone. Audio should add meaning rather than conceal an unreadable expression or confusing edit.
Pass 2: character and object continuity
| Area | Inspect | Record a concrete failure |
|---|---|---|
| Face / identity | Compare beginning, middle and end with the reference; inspect profile changes. | Cheek shape or age changes during a turn. |
| Eyes | Eye line, pupils, eyelids and blink timing. | Pupil jumps independently or eyelid intersects the eye. |
| Lips / teeth | Mouth corners, teeth and any speech timing. | Teeth merge or lips visibly lag the spoken word. |
| Hands / objects | Finger count, grip, contact and object geometry. | Cup handle doubles while the hand changes grip. |
| Clothing | Seams, patterns, jewelry and edges. | Pattern drifts independently of the body. |
| Background | Straight lines, reflections, shadows and scene objects. | Shelf bends while the camera is locked. |
Sparse sample frames can miss a brief failure. Scrub through the intervals around movement and transitions, and inspect at a useful zoom. Separate defects already in the reference from those introduced during generation.
Pass 3: text, camera and temporal stability
- Read every visible label, number, caption and call to action. Compare product claims with actual evidence.
- Check whether the camera follows the requested move without accidental zoom, orbit or cut.
- Look for exposure flicker, texture crawling, unstable shadows and pulsing geometry across adjacent frames.
- Inspect deformations where objects overlap or leave the frame.
- Compare the first and last frames with the brief. A stable end matters for editing and calls to action.
- For a loop, replay the boundary several times with and without sound. Check position, motion direction, light and audio continuity.
Pass 4: sound and delivery
Listen for missing channels, clipping, noise, abrupt music cuts and speech masked by background sound. Compare mouth timing against the exported audio when the character speaks. Confirm that the voice, music and effects are authorized for the intended use.
Play the downloaded delivery copy on the intended screen size. Record dimensions, ratio, duration, codec/container and bytes. Check the actual destination route, not a generic social-media limit. If compression damaged captions or faces, return to the master and make a better copy with the Browser Video Compressor or a suitable editor.
Revise the smallest relevant cause
Use the AI Video Prompt Composer to revise a missing action, unclear camera move or weak continuity instruction. Use the Performance Prompt Builder for an unreadable reaction. Simplify gestures or camera motion before adding more descriptive language. An exact text overlay or editor cut can be a better repair than another full generative pass.
Save the failed output and the revision note. Change one main factor where possible, then repeat the relevant pass and the final delivery check. An earlier approval of the master does not automatically approve a newly compressed file.

File / version / reviewer / date: Reference and brief available: Intended action / emotion: pass / revise Face / eyes / lips: Hands / objects / clothes: Background / reflections / shadows: Text / numbers / factual claims: Camera / flicker / deformation: First frame / last frame / loop: Audio quality / sync / rights: Delivery ratio / dimensions / duration / format / bytes: Issue timestamps and severity: Decision: pass / revise / reject Required next change:
Describe defects at a timestamp and explain their impact. “Face changes at 00:03 during the turn” is actionable. “Looks a bit AI” is too vague to guide the next attempt. Keep the decision with the delivered version.
Frequently asked questions
Can this checklist automatically detect every defect?
No. It is a structured human review method. Some failures require careful playback and comparison with the source.
Should I inspect only the first, middle and last frames?
No. Those are anchors. Scrub movement and transitions because short failures can occur between them.
Can I approve the source and skip the compressed output?
No. Encoding, resizing and audio changes can introduce new problems. Play the actual downloaded delivery file.
