The supplied helper uses MarkItDown and PyMuPDF to read a PDF, produce Markdown and retain supporting extracted material. It can make a simple digital report easier to inspect or incorporate into a document workflow. Source extraction is not a semantic guarantee: tables, reading order, images and unusual fonts can still need manual reconciliation.
Text-based PDFs that the user is authorized to inspect, especially when a searchable text version is needed for review. Scanned image documents require a separately assessed OCR path; this reviewed source is not evidence of OCR accuracy.
The helper removes and recreates its destination directory. Use only a new, explicitly owned output folder after checking the resolved path; never point it at a project root or valuable existing directory. Review document sensitivity and the separate dependency licenses. A PDF can contain malformed input, and local execution is not a safety certificate.

Keep the original PDF unchanged. Inspect the exact script and dependencies, constrain the input and destination paths, then convert a small sample. Compare headings, numerical values, page order and omissions with the rendered original before relying on the extracted text.
