Ghidra provides a broad static analysis environment for mapping functions, references, data and reconstructed control flow before a program runs. x64dbg is a Windows user-mode debugger for observing an executable during a selected run. Start with Ghidra to form a map and hypotheses; use x64dbg when the question requires actual state, timing or path evidence.
Build the static map
Use strings, imports, references and function boundaries to identify the smallest relevant area. Keep addresses and instructions beside decompiler output. Static analysis can expose possible paths and constants, but it cannot prove that a path executed in a particular scenario.
Observe one controlled run
Use a debugger only on an authorized Windows target in an appropriate environment. Define the input, breakpoint and value you need before running. One trace proves what happened in that scenario, not every possible path, so carry the static context and runtime conditions together.
